It is not necessary to create Family Records directly. Family Historian will automatically create Family Records for you when they are needed. You rarely even need to look directly at Family Records in the Property Box. You can see Family record NotesFamily Historian version 6 and below supports two types of Notes: Local notes (associated with a single person, record, or fact); and Note Records (sometimes called Shared Notes), that can be linked to multiple records and/or facts. Version 7 introduced, for example, in the Notes tab when viewing the Individual recordsEvery person in your tree will have a single Individual Record, which holds all the information about that individual that you have entered. You can view and edit Individual records in the Property Box Dialogue. (in the Property Box) for either of the spouses/parents of the family. Similarly, you can see Family record events and attributesEvents are things that happened to an Individual and Attributes are things that described them. in the FactsFacts are one of the key concepts at the heart of Family Historian; they are how you record the things that happened to, or described, each ancestor (Individual). tab when viewing the Individual records (in the Property Box Dialogue) for either of the spouses/parents of the family.

Explanation
Each Individual Record can have an unlimited number of family as spouse and family as child links to Family records.
In practice though one person usually has only a single family as child and ƒh uses the more advanced Property Box Dialogue: Individuals: All Tab to manipulate multiple family as child links, that typically apply when adoptive or foster parents are involved.
