Introduction
Rich Text formatting can be applied to most long text fields such as NotesFamily Historian version 6 and below supports two types of Notes: Local notes (associated with a single person, record, or fact); and Note Records (sometimes called Shared Notes), that can be linked to multiple records and/or facts. Version 7 introduced and Text From SourceBoth Source records and Citations have a Text From Source field intended to hold transcripts of source documents..
The Rich Text editing window is opened by double-left-clicking the text box or clicking the button to the right of the box.
Editing Raw Rich Text
It is possible to open a Rich Text field to view and edit the raw underlying plain text or remove the formatting.
Press-and-hold both the Ctrl and Alt keys while opening any text field as normal.
The plain text can then be adjusted as required but any malformed codes may disrupt the Rich Text display.
At the bottom left is a Rich Text tick option which can be used to enable or disable the Rich Text mode.
Resizing Table Columns
Hovering over a row or column dividing line in a table changes the cursor to double lines and arrows. Then dragging the cursor will adjust the size of the row or column.
Usually, when dragging a column divider one column increases and the other decreases, so the overall table width is unchanged.
Hold down the shift key while adjusting the width of one column, and all the columns to the right move with it with their widths unchanged, so the overall table width changes.
