| Title | Printing Diagram Page Boundary Marks |
| Category | Diagrams |
| Description | As diagrams can go over many pages, it would be useful to have marks on the border to aid cutting. Just like a publishing application does. (Note WL427 merged in Research reference copies or distribution copies are often more easily handled as multi-sheet packs, but this format can be more difficult to navigate due to lack of clarity of branch routings across page boundaries. A solution to this problem could be to apply a technique used in industrial Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) or computer function charts where interconnections across page boundaries are cross-referenced at both the source and destination page boundaries. Such cross referencing is essential as charts can often include several hundred pages. For Family Historian, the reference could comprise the interconnecting page and person ID numbers. A software switch could be included for printouts where such cross-referencing is not required. As far as I am aware, there is currently no family history software that provides such a solution, unless someone can advise otherwise?) |
