Is there a way to make a custom source and if so can you direct me to the topic on how to make one?
Thanks for all the help

Re: Custom Source
If you are looking for customised fields etc on a source, these are expected in V7.
Otherwise please explain what you are looking for in more detail.

Re: Custom Source
I would like to create a custom source entry screen that would contain just the fields I want and in the right sequence. All of the data I need is in the file just a matter of creating a custom data entry, display screen, and be able to print them on a family group sheet for the source.
Thanks

Re: Custom Source
Are you talking about a data capture solution, such as Ancestral Sources does? A source would not naturally populate a Family Group Sheet although it might be cited.
You could probably create plugin input a specific source and create the source and facts, but you might want to make sure Ancestral Sources does not cover your needs.
I am still not clear precisely what you are looking for, but if it's just a way of entering the same facts against many people you could probably create a custom tab in the Property box.

Re: Custom Source
If I may jump in ...
The Source record fields such as Author, Publication Info, Repository, Text From Source, etc, are the standard GEDCOM fields, and if you stray too far away from them your Project will not export to any other products such as Ancestry, FindMyPast, RootsMagic, etc.
There are some Plugins that help, such as Add Source From Template, but they don't change the fundamental fields.
You can customise the Property Box via the cog Menu > Customize Data Entry.
There would need to be a different tab for each field layout.
But again the fundamental fields would remain the same.
Can you give some specific examples of the field names and contents you would like?
Is this in anyway related to your Import from RootsMagic (17413) posting?

Re: Custom Source
I am new to Fh but have used RM7 for years so let me give it another shot.
When I go to Facts and select a fact there is a screen for Sources for that Fact. I can also click the scroll and add a new source.
I want to be able to change the format of the source window. I do not want to create any new fields but just use the fields that are already in the data base. Starting with Entry Date and all of the fields below I would like to change the order and use other fields in the database so that the lower part of the source is the way I want. Very similar to the way you can customize the fields for the individual window, see I have added 2 custom fields at the end.

Re: Custom Source
That is the citation pane and the fields there are for the citation not the source, if you drill down to the source on the property box you can customise that. As I said in the first response v7 will enhance some of this area.
