Yes, you can use the Search and Replace Plugin.

On its Major Options tab:
Set Search Scope to Place Records (_PLAC)
Under Basic Filters, tick Place fields but clear all others
Set LUA Pattern Mode top right
In Search : enter $
In Replace : enter , England
( The $ anchors change to end of line and so adds comma & England to every Place field. )
Click the Search & Replace button at bottom

In the popup window if the Replacement Value is OK then click Replace
After checking a few you can untick Confirm every item found and click Replace to do the rest

On completion the Plugin will display a Result Set of the changes.
If they all look OK, then you are done, and can make any minor manual adjustments needed.
If not OK, then you can reverse all the changes by using Edit > Undo Plugin Updates immediately.

Bromley, Kent, England plots correctly in Kent, England for me.
You probably have not cleared the previous plots.
Any that are considered non-tentative will not be re-plotted.

So in the Map Window, select all the Place records you want re-plotted.
Then right-click and choose Geocoding > Mark as Tentative.
Then right-click and choose Geocoding > Refresh Geocoding.

As Mike says, you probably need to refresh the geocoding.

Bromley, Kent, England is mapped to Bromley Green in Kent. But that may not be the one you want. If you want the Bromley which used to be in Kent and is now part of Greater London, try adding Bromley, London, England to the Standardized field of the place record and it gets much closer.

Flixton by Bungay, Suffolk, England maps to Bungay, Suffolk. You will have to manually move the marker onto Flixton. (Flixton, Suffolk, England maps to a different Flixton further away from Bungay.)

Paula,
Did you know that instead of dragging the marker from a wrong location to the correct location, you can drag the name from the list of name on left and drop that on to the correct location. This is particularly useful when wrong location is situated very far away, and you have to shrink the map to get both locations on screen. (e.g. USA and UK)
All you need to do is expand the map so you can clearly see the correct location, then drag the name and drop it on to map.
