Leaving school
There is no fact for the above as well as going into school and I'm trying to make one of my own but it doesn't seem to read right. There is no 'in' in the sentence but it appears on it's own?

Re: Leaving school
A "Place" will normally get prefixed in a narrative sentence by "in" - without you doing anything. That's simply the programmer's best bet at the prefix required in a sentence.
The normal Place code is {place} - that generates the "in" prefix. However, if you use {_place}, that does not generate any prefix, and would, in your exact case, read "Left School" rather than "Left in School".
If you go to edit the fact definition for Left School, (in Tools / Fact Types... , select the fact and edit) then if you click "<< Insert Code", you'll see an option for "Place (with prefix 'in')" and another for "Place (with no prefix)"

Re: Leaving school
Another option, if you know both the sarting and leaving dates, is to use the standard Education attribute and in the date field enter a date range, i.e. 'from... to...'. If you don't know the name of the school, just enter 'school' in the value field. This will produce the sentence 'He was educated at school from... to ..."
You could then have a separate fact for Domestic Service.
It is probably not a good idea to use the Place and Address fields for 'School' and 'Domestic Service'.

Re: Leaving school
Yes, I agree. Your use of the Place and Address fields is unconventional.
It is unlikely that such a custom fact for Left School will ever be used again.
It would be better to use the standard Education and Occupation facts.
The Education fact could identify the Place and Address of the School and the Dates attended.
If you only know when left, then use the Date Period of To 26 July 1917.
The Occupation fact could identify the Place and Address of the Domestic Work and the Dates.
If you only know when started, then use the Date Period of From 26 July 1917.

Re: Leaving school
OK I've recorded the events as Education and Occupation, don't want to rock the boat! Thank you for your advice.
