That is probably possible with a Query.
I presume you identify Convicts with a custom Fact, or maybe with a custom Flag.

If you use a Flag then use View > Standard Queries > Has Flag and choose your Flag.

If you use a custom Fact then create a new custom Individual Query named Convicts.
On the Rows tab:
  • Set Condition to Exclude if
  • Set Expression via [...] Data Ref Assistant to your custom Event/Attribute
  • Set Operator to is null
Finally click Add and run Query.

You can then Print or Save Result to File using toolbar top right.

Many thanks for your help, I guess this will also work if I wish to get a list of grandparents (up to and including x7grandparents for an individual?)

There are existing standard Queries for relatives such as Ancestors and Descendants that show all generations.

The Rows tab has a Relations tab that allows all Ancestors or Descendants of a nominated Individual to be listed.
This a rather different technique to one for listing Convicts.

Thank you, will potter an see if I can do it, have managed the convicts list thanks.Maybe I will just have to do it by pen and paper manually as I want to include in the ancestors/decendants as an quick referral for a family member who has requested I give her a list showing who is gparent or x6 gmother etc so she can understand a bit quicker, (she is 80 y.old and not savvy with genealogy terms etc.)

Why not simply print an outline report, or the standard Ancestor list query for her, it includes the information you want
