The descriptions are correct for <span class=\"fh\" style=\"font-size: 17px !important; line-height: 21.4286px !important;\">\u0192<span style=\"color:#73B262; font-weight: bold;\">h<\/span><\/span> V7. Earlier versions have similar but fewer features.<\/p>\n<h2>Web Search Window<\/h2>\n<p>Use the <a href=\"#!\" class=\"cs_tooltip\" fhugtt=\"This is the menu across the top of the main Family Historian windows. The &gt; denotes a submenu\">Internet&nbsp&gt;&nbspOpen&nbspWeb&nbspSearch&nbspWindow<\/a> command to display the <em>Web Search Window<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>After a URL has been entered into the <glwrap>address<\/glwrap> bar and opened then it can be saved as a <em>Bookmark<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Click the star favourite icon or the <strong>&#8230;<\/strong> menu option <em>Bookmark this Page&#8230;<\/em> to open the <em>Add Bookmark<\/em> dialogue where the <em>Name<\/em> and <em>URL<\/em> can be edited before clicking the <em>Add<\/em> button.<\/p>\n<p>Click the list favourites icon or the <strong>&#8230;<\/strong> menu option <em>Search the Internet&#8230;<\/em> to display the <em>Search the Internet<\/em> dialogue.<\/p>\n<h2>Search the Internet<\/h2>\n<p>Use the <a href=\"#!\" class=\"cs_tooltip\" fhugtt=\"This is the menu across the top of the main Family Historian windows. The &gt; denotes a submenu\">Internet&nbsp&gt;&nbspSearch&nbspthe&nbspInternet&#8230;<\/a> command or one of the options above to display the <em>Search the Internet<\/em> dialogue that lists <em>Website<\/em> shortcuts and search parameters.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Show<\/em> droplist has four options:<br \/>\n<em>\u00a0All<\/em> displays all the shortcuts<br \/>\n<em>\u00a0Standard Sites Only<\/em> displays only the <span class=\"fh\" style=\"font-size: 17px !important; line-height: 21.4286px !important;\">\u0192<span style=\"color:#73B262; font-weight: bold;\">h<\/span><\/span> predefined shortcuts<br \/>\n<em>\u00a0Bookmarks Only<\/em> displays only the <em>Bookmark<\/em> shortcuts you have added<br \/>\n<em>\u00a0&#8216;Search Now&#8217; Sites Only<\/em> displays only the shortcuts that allow <em>Search Details<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <em>Search Details<\/em> parameters and <em>Search Now<\/em> and <em>Go To Site<\/em> buttons need no explanation.<\/p>\n<p>Click the <em>More &gt;&gt;<\/em> button to display a side panel of buttons to change, hide &amp; show shortcuts.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Show<\/em> and <em>Hide<\/em> buttons and the <em>Show Hidden<\/em> option operate on all types of shortcuts.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>New<\/em>, <em>Edit<\/em> and <em>Delete<\/em> buttons only operate on custom <em>Bookmark<\/em> shortcuts.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>New<\/em> button opens the <em>Add Bookmark<\/em> dialogue which is the same as the <em>Edit Bookmark<\/em> dialogue described below. After clicking the <em>Add<\/em> button, the <em>Bookmark<\/em> is added to the end of the <em>Website<\/em> list but without its <em>Name<\/em>, so immediately use the <em>Edit<\/em> button otherwise the <em>Bookmark<\/em> will not be saved. (This issue has been reported to CP.)<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Edit<\/em> button opens the <em>Edit Bookmark<\/em> dialogue to allow the shortcut to be changed. The <em>Name<\/em> and <em>URL<\/em> fields need no explanation. The <em>Description<\/em> field holds the text displayed in the box below the <em>Website<\/em> list when the <em>Bookmark<\/em> is chosen. The <em>Template<\/em> field enables the <em>Search Details<\/em> and <em>Search Now<\/em> feature.<\/p>\n<h3>Template Format<\/h3>\n<p>The <em>Template<\/em> field holds the full URL including search terms for the website. They typically need the name of a person and years to filter the search. So insert the <em>Search Details<\/em> parameters into the URL to replace names and years by using the following codes:<br \/>\n<code>&lt;&lt;&lt;given&gt;&gt;&gt;<\/code> where a <em>Given<\/em> name is needed<br \/>\n<code>&lt;&lt;&lt;last&gt;&gt;&gt;<\/code> where a <em>Surname<\/em> is needed<br \/>\n<code>&lt;&lt;&lt;y1&gt;&gt;&gt;<\/code> where a <em>Year Start<\/em> is needed<br \/>\n<code>&lt;&lt;&lt;y2&gt;&gt;&gt;<\/code> where a <em>Year End<\/em> is needed<\/p>\n<p>e.g. <code>https:\/\/www.ancestry.com\/search\/?name=&lt;&lt;&lt;givn&gt;&gt;&gt;_&lt;&lt;&lt;last&gt;&gt;&gt;&amp;birth=&lt;&lt;&lt;y1&gt;&gt;&gt;&amp;death=&lt;&lt;&lt;y2&gt;&gt;<\/code><\/p>\n<h3>Shortcut Files<\/h3>\n<p>The default standard <em>Website<\/em> list is held in the <code>C:\\ProgramData\\Calico Pie\\Family Historian\\Web Search\\Standard.fhi<\/code> file.
