Birth & Death Informant<\/h2>\n
At installation, \u0192h<\/span><\/span> does not include an Informant Witness Role. To use Ancestral Sources to record the Informant of a Birth or Death event, one must be defined in \u0192h<\/span><\/span> to allow the features to operate correctly.<\/p>\n Without that definition, the\u00a0Facts\u00a0tab of the\u00a0Informant\u00a0just displays\u00a0Birth\u00a0or\u00a0Death\u00a0without any further details, and the\u00a0Narrative Sentence\u00a0has no\u00a0Template\u00a0to correct its wording. This is confusing as the example below shows, with the word\u00a0Death\u00a0being displayed in the\u00a0Facts\u00a0tab dated Dec 1998 for a person still living 20 years later. The\u00a0Sentence\u00a0text further down is correct (although the grammar has not been corrected).<\/p>\n To define an\u00a0Informant Witness Role\u00a0in\u00a0\u0192h<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0follow these steps:<\/p>\n An\u00a0Informant Witness Role\u00a0needs to created in\u00a0\u0192h<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0for both the\u00a0Birth\u00a0and\u00a0Death\u00a0events.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n With the above definition the\u00a0Facts\u00a0tab for the\u00a0Informant\u00a0will say\u00a0Informed Birth\/Death of\u2026<\/p>\n That can be customised by selecting the\u00a0Informant\u00a0role and using the\u00a0Edit\u00a0and\u00a0Advanced\u00a0buttons to create an\u00a0Override Template, e.g. To mimic the\u00a0Timeline Facts<\/a>\u00a0that say just\u00a0Birth\/Death of\u2026\u00a0then use the\u00a0Template:<\/p>\n See the Forum thread Birth of son not recorded<\/a> September 2017.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n Strictly speaking the\u00a0Informant\u00a0registration is a different event from the\u00a0Birth\u00a0or\u00a0Death\u00a0itself. It usually happens on a different\u00a0Date\u00a0at a different\u00a0Place\u00a0and\u00a0Address. So rather than use an\u00a0Informant Witness Role, it may be better to use a\u00a0Custom Event\u00a0where those different details can be recorded.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n The need for matching\u00a0Witness Roles\u00a0in\u00a0\u0192h<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00a0also applies to all\u00a0Associated Individuals\u00a0in\u00a0Ancestral Sources. Many\u00a0Associations\u00a0are installed by default in\u00a0Ancestral Sources\u00a0but there may not be a corresponding\u00a0Witness Role\u00a0in\u00a0\u0192h<\/span><\/span><\/span>.
