The &gt; denotes a submenu\">Add&nbsp&gt;&nbspPictures&#8230;<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Document Files in textual formats such as PDF or DOCX can be added, but will not be automatically displayed within <span class=\"fh\" style=\"font-size: 17px !important; line-height: 21.4286px !important;\">\u0192<span style=\"color:#73B262; font-weight: bold;\">h<\/span><\/span>, nor included in Diagrams, Reports or Books. If the document is predominantly an image, it is best to convert it to an Image File format using one of the <a style=\"background-color: #ffffff;\" href=\"https:\/\/fhug.org.uk\/kb\/link-type\/graphics-packages\/\">Graphics Packages<\/a>\u00a0or copy &amp; paste each image within a document to a separate image file. The Format field should be set to url, and File set to a Shortcut URL file; for example Media\\wikipedia.url with a URL of http:\/\/www.wikipedia.org. The <a href=\"https:\/\/pluginstore.family-historian.co.uk\/page\/plugin\/add-media-url-shortcut\">Add Media URL Shortcut<\/a> plugin offers an easy way to add a Shortcut URL file, via a new Media record, to the Media tab of a selected record. <div class=\"gca-utility clearfix\"><\/div><\/li>\n<li>It is best to avoid using <a href=\"#!\" class=\"cs_tooltip\" fhugtt=\"This is the menu across the top of the main Family Historian windows. The &gt; denotes a submenu\">Add&nbsp&gt;&nbspOLE&nbspObject\u2026&nbsp<\/a> unless you fully understand the concepts involved, and that the Open in Editor\/Player button <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"cs_v alignnone lazyload\" data-src=\"https:\/\/fhug.org.uk\/kb\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/helpv6\/propertyboxmediatab_12.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"33\" height=\"30\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 33px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 33\/30;\" \/> only seems to operate in the Media Window.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Sometimes, when browsing to add files, the Windows file-type option bottom-right, may need to be set to All files (*.*) to show all filenames.<\/li>\n<li>Regarding all of the above Media types, none of them are displayed in Diagrams and Reports.
