Saving ';Merge File'; changes?

Post by ThigWich »

I have a lot of records to compare and to do it all in one sitting is not possible. I can leave the 'Merge File' window open and come back to it but I wonder if I hit cancel will all my checks, discards, keeps etc be lost. IOW, I don't won't to merge yet but I want to keep my edits in place. Is that possible?
Thanks

Have you considered using the Split Tree Helper or Export GEDCOM to break up into smaller 'chunks' the file that you're merging into your 'master' file?  That way you should be able to complete all aspects of the merge of a 'chunk' (Families, Sources, etc., as well as Individuals) in one sitting.
