Hello my mom changed her laptop and when I tried to restored her backup (file type: *.fhbak) I receive and error "Unrecognised backup file format or type"
It is really bugging me and I've tried a lot.. is this really bug or am I doing something worng? Should I search for another kind of file type or *.fhbak is correct to restore backup?.
Thanks in advance

Re: Restoring backup
How did you attempt the restore. Did you use File > Backup/Restore > Restore Backup...?

Re: Restoring backup
You need to use File > Backup/Restore > Restore Backup. You then browse for the backup file.
(Edit : Bill's reply just beat me!)

Re: Restoring backup
Also check you have not installed an early version of FH 7 rather than 7.0.23.
The first versions used .zip rather than .fhbak.

Re: Restoring backup
Have you also backed up and restored all the FH custom settings and features, such as Plugins, Custom Queries, Fact Sets, Language Packs etc. as well as the data file(s)?

Re: Restoring backup
Hey all, we're using 7.0.23 version and the backup is in *.fhbak .. i just can't make it work.
I've tried normal backup multiple times and it always says (File > Backup/Restore > Restore backup) and I always get this message: "Unrecognised backup file format or type"
Idk how this happened, she always created backup in this way and it always worked and now it does not. Maybe and other ideas?

Re: Restoring backup
If you have 7-Zip File Manager installed try opening the .fhbak file with 7-Zip.
If that fails then the file has been corrupted somehow.
Otherwise, copy the .fhbak file to a .zip file and use right-click Extract All... to run the Windows unzip utility.
If that fails then the file has been corrupted somehow.
If either of the above succeed then you can restore all the extracted files manually into the FH Project folder.
