MSVC140.dll missing

Post by DBrowne »

Upgraded to FH 7.22 and want to install FH on new computer. All is normal to download Program but will not execute as MSVCP140.dll is missing. I understand this is a Micro Executable file and should be included with the download of FH 7.22.
Need help.

Try right-clicking on the FH installation file and running as administrator.

Make sure you download the installation file from https://www.family-historian.co.uk/install7
As Helen says, right-click it and choose Run as administrator

BTW: Your profile on the right of your posting still says you are running FH v6.
So please click your username, navigate to Edit Profile, set Family Historian to V7, then scroll down to SUBMIT.

Thanks Mike. Did as you suggested but results not so good. Still missing MSCVP140.dll but now need to locate VCRRUNTIME140.dll as well.

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/w ... w=msvc-170

they used to have an all in one but the only place I find them now is non M$ sites. (some of which are extremely legit)

I know from a post that simon orde made on another site they used VSC 2017 to build fh 7.
