Mapping

Post by JShirley » 05 Apr 2021 20:06

I have been requested by family members to map within Family Historian, my father's travels when he was in the Navy during WWII. If this is possible, how do I do this? I've looked at the website information about mapping but am getting confused. Does each location he travelled to have to be recorded in his record as an individual event?

Welcome to the FHUG.

The short answer is YES.
Each Fact (Event or Attribute) needs a Place name recorded against it so its map coordinates (Latitude & Longitude) can be determined for that Fact. Only then can the Map Window plot the position of each Fact on the Map.
