It sounds to me as though you need to use the Tools - How Related feature, although you'll need to run it once for every pairing of people you want to consider. I generally find that the graphical option is easiest to follow, particularly if you turn off the 'spouses and siblings' option. I don't find the text report so helpful - but you might!

Hope this is some help.

No the existing report only relates between 2 people
Silly FH and complicated !!!
I exported my whole file to Ftreemaker 2014 and did it from there

I guess you are talking about a Query Report?

Use the function =Relationship(["Individual"],%INDI%,TEXT,1) in a Column.

That will prompt for the 'root' Individual you want to use as the basis of all relationships.

In the Rows tab, exclude any where that function returns nothing.

Or just click on the Result Set column heading to sort into order.

The standard Query Relations and Nearest Relationship does it for you.

Thanks Mike
That Query Relationship and nearest relationship picks up the relationship of one person against all 1813 in Project where I only need one person against selected individuals totalling 75 exactly as FTM does.
If your suggested query does the same this is not wanted, but thanks Ill try

Still not was required
I need a query to enter a specific person from project (a selected root just for this query) then to enter from The Main project a browse function to select a number of individuals to produce a report which can specify the relationship for each to root. This list to be in 1 of 2 orders to be selected (a) in surname order withe relationship or (b) in order of relationship priority eg Self father brother sister uncle aunt grandfather great grandfather ggf gggf etc all of this is done from a report from FTM 2014
Thanks

Sorry, I misunderstood
The only way I can think of to achieve that is first select the Individuals and add them to a Named List.

Then in the Query on the Rows filter the function =IsInList(...) must be true to include the required Individuals.
You can use =IsInList(%INDI%,["Select List"]) to prompt for the list or use =IsInList(%INDI%,"Bookmarks") to choose a fixed Named List, Bookmarks in that example, but you could have one with the same name as the Query.

Otherwise, the Query will be the same as Relations and Nearest Relationship that you can Save As Custom Query... under a new name and add the =IsInList(...) filter.

Thanks for your great help on this much appreciated.!!
I think it is easier that I transfer project to FTM 14 and use their reports that do not exist in FH. Too late now FH7 is out to ask Calico to add this as a Report.

It is never too late to ask CP for a new feature.
But it will only get added to FH V7.
You need to make it clear whether you are talking about a Report or a Query.

If you are talking about a Report, don't forget they can be written in Lua in FH7 so it wouldn't have to wait for a new release of FH if you could find somebody to write it for you.

Thanks all for your help
Depending on program today we use different descriptions of items we want
In FH I would prefer a report that could be accessed similalrly to all other reports. In this case the user entry would be choose a start person (tempory root) add relations from browse list. Produce in (a) alpha sort order or (b) down from self siblings father ggf etc

Helen, according to his Profile, the user is still running FH V6.2 so a Report Plugin is NOT an option.

I'll ask one more time for you to clarify whether you want a Report or a Query and then go away quietly...

1) Do you want a Report similar to those available on the Publish menu?
How much information do you want in each Report, e.g. something like an Individual Summary Report or what?

2) Do you want a Query similar to those on the View > Standard/Custom Queries menu?
i.e. Similar to Relations and Nearest Relationship with a tabular Result Set?

Mike, the information about reports in fh7 might be useful to other users with a similar challenge.

Yes I want a Standard Report as in Publish Miscellaneous Reports
All that is needed for input is to define a root (Not the fixed root) then this will bring up all the records in the project. Click on as many as required the RUN
This will create a Report showing each record and the relationship to the root. No American but British ie Great Great Grandfather not Grand great father.

It is an uphill struggle to get a description of what you want.
I asked how much information you want in the Report but you have not answered?
I don't understand what "showing each record" means.
e.g.
Do you just want Name and Relationship and nothing else?
Do you want Record Id and Life Dates?
Do you want any Facts as in an Individual Summary Report or a Narrative as in a Narrative report?

Anyway, it is only speculative, because you are still on FH V6.2 and customised Report Plugins are only in FH V7.

I have a similar question
My cousin wants to see how he is related to other DNA matches that we share. I did do a descendant chart from the common ancestor of our matches, and then "hid" the branches that didn't have DNA matches. It worked but was time consuming. An easier way would be appreciated.

Maggie, have you investigated the FH V7 four Chart > DNA Diagrams?
