I created a GEDCOM file using V2 of FH and set up various subfolders to hold pictures and documents. This work was completed by 2005. I now wish to add more information using V6.2.7. How do I get my original data structure into a new project (V2 didn't have projects as such)? I can open the .ged file and make changes but, obviously enough, the only backup option is for the .ged file alone.
Thanks for any help.

Re: Create project using existing data files
Open the Project Window. (File > Project Window)
Choose New Project.
Choose Import a GEDCOM File.
I recommend keeping the box ticked to Copy your linked multimedia files into the project folder.

Re: Create project using existing data files
Welcome to the FHUG.
There is advice on using Projects in how_to:v4:understanding_projects|> Understanding Projects.
Projects offer extra backup options that include all the Media.
Those topics are part of how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers some of which may be worth studying if you are new to FH V6 Project features.
