Ahnentafel chart

Post by Gene » 26 Feb 2016 20:45

In TMG I could generate a report of the ancestors of an individual "Ahnentafel". How can I do it in FH?
Under PUBLISH it has "ANCESTOR" but it only prints two generations.
I'd like a ancestor report of ALL ancestors with only B bap MDB dates and places. Maybe an option to include other items in the FACTS. IS it possible to have this created?

When you produce the report, click on the Options button on the right of the screen. You'll find it is easy to set the number of generations, select facts to display, ahnentafel, etc. Each page of the options dialog has a help button you can click on.

Hope that helps

I have moved this to FH General Usage forum because it is not to do with this website user group.

Gene, in reply to your first posting it was suggested you study the how_to:key_features_for_newcomers|> Key Features for Newcomers that covers such basic Options for publishing Reports. Please look at the Book and Tutorials and work through the Chapters.

As an alternative to a Report look at fhugdownloads:contents:diagram_type_pedigree_chart_-_4_gens_-_ahnentafel|> Diagram Type ~ Pedigree Chart - 4 Gens - Ahnentafel that offers a family tree Diagram of Ahnentafel Ancestors.

Mike, I'm on FH and need to find an answer. You said to STUDY the Knowledge something. I looked under Help and all other item but cannot find a link to KNOWLEDGE. Where is it and how to I access it?

Thanks,
Gene 83 years old

Oh one other think you said to not use the FH Users Group for questions. Where should I post any question I may have?

Gene,

Mike was referencing the Knowledge Base which has lots of information about the program and other things. In the upper right hand corner of the forums it has a line with Home, FAQ, Members, Knowledge Base, and Donate. If you click on Knowledge Base it will take you there. Here is a direct link to the knowledge base, http://www.fhug.org.uk/wiki/.

What Mike meant was that you should post your questions in one of the sub boards under the Using Family Historian section of the forums depending on the nature of the question. In general use the General Usage board. If the question has to do with a plugin then use the Plugin Discussions board. If it has to do with importing or exporting to another program or website then use the Importing and Exporting board. If it is a wish for a new function of Family Historian then use the New Wish List Requests board. You shouldn't post your questions about using the program in the General board in the User Group Information portion of the forums which is for questions about the user group and the website for the user group.

Gene, if you click on those orange links that will open the Knowledge Base page mentioned.

To investigate all topics in our Knowledge Base click the link top right that goes orange when you mouse over it.

There are nine FHUG Forums from "Using Family Historian" General Usage and Plugin Discussions at the top, down to "User Group Information" General and Research at the bottom, and each one has a description of the type of topics that should be posted there. Just ask your question in whichever one seems best to you. If you happen to pick the wrong one, then your posting will be moved as in this case.

For instance, the "User Group Information" User Group Forum description says: "Suggestions and requests for help on using this site." so questions about using this website go there.

But your question was about using FH so the "Using Family Historian" General Usage Forum for "Questions regarding use of any Version of Family Historian." is the best place to ask such questions.
