TMG Import - Cause of Death

Post by wmgordon » 04 Feb 2015 21:01

I used the current version of FH (6.0.2) to import my TMG data. So far what I see looks good. However, I have always used the TMG Memo field on the Death event to record the cause of death. That's the only information that I put in that field. After the import, all of my cause of death information (Memo field) was put in the FHG Note field. For all other Events this works great but not for my Death events. Is there a tool or an easy way to move that information out of the "Note" field to the "Cause" field. I have about 300 of those so it wouldn't be a disaster if I had to do them one at a time. Any other ideas?

The tool for this type of operation is a Plugin.

Try the attached Plugin below that I've written for the job.

See Knowledge Base > About Family Historian Plugins for advice about running Plugins.

Remember you are installing the Plugin from below instead of the Plugin Store.

If you are unhappy with the Plugin results then use Edit > Undo Plugin Updates before Closing FH.

[EDIT: Attachment deleted as now published in Knowledge Base > Import from The Master Genealogist (TMG).]
