Adding possible ancestors to FH

Post by Simonides »

I've found some possible ancestors but have not yet found the proof that they are "my" ancestors. It occurred to me that I could add them with the appropriate relationship eg. Father, Mother, Sibling but record their name with question marks to indicate that it's not yet proven, eg. record Jill Doe's mother who might or might not be Jane Blogs as ?Jane ?Blogs.

Apart from writing on the ubiquitous 'yellow sticky,' what do other folks generally do with this sort of information?

See how_to:recording_credibility_of_family_relationships|> Recording Credibility of Family Relationships which has several suggestions and many links to Forum threads on the topic.

I've moved this to the FH General Usage Forum that is more applicable.
