Following the problems this morning - I am in the process of moving this site to new hosting.

If you are seeing this message you are looking at the new Hosting.

Please read the following carefully.

The New hosting did not support the older version of the Forum software we have been using. So I have had to upgrade to the latest version, which has lost some of the customisation which I have done over the years.

I will be adding it back in over time BUT I will not have a great deal of time over the next week or so, due to work commitments.

I felt it was better to get the site up and running on the new host abet with a few things missing than for the site to be as "flaky" as it has been for the last month or so and completely down as it was this morning.

I'd rather have the site up and running than have all the customization. Thanks for taking care of this and for all you do to keep FHUG up and running!

Thanks!

Thanks Jane, I presume one of the tweaks that will happen in due course is the ability to change the forum skin?

If you have required changes please email them to admin @ fhug.org.uk and I will build a list to look at when I have time.

You can change the default skin the user control panel, I had just turned it off while testing.

Please note I will not be making any changes to the pro skin so the newer search etc will not be available.

Thanks Jane, back to the old skin which I prefer.

This server seems much quicker and so far no issues accessing the board. Thanks for all the hard work, I know that it is no simple task transferring servers.

Testing if I can edit a post

Post by BillH »

This is just a test. Ignore.

EDIT:
I am able to edit this reply using the prosilver skin, but no edit button shows using the marina orange skin.

That's very strange - I just tested the option with my "base user" and got the edit buttons just fine.

Thanks for your work in doing the transfer. (Look at it this way - at least you didn't have to wait until Christmas Day to transfer, which is what we had to do with BR because that was the only day we weren't running trains!!)

I can see the buttons with Internet Explorer but not with Firefox (my usual browser).
However in Firefox I can get them to show one at a time if I move the mouse over the area. This is the same on both desktop and laptop.

The avatar has moved over to the left now, and can see the report this post and quote buttons but no others

Edit, on posting this I can now see all 4 buttons. Thank you.

Still no change here. As previously mentioned, the button icons are white so don't show against the white background, but I can make them appear (in orange) one at a time by moving the mouse over the apparently blank area. So the buttons are usable but only if you know they are there.

It seems to be a problem in the theme I have paid for the support option and passed it on to them to see if they can fix it.

For most people it only seems to occur on Chrome browsers.
