I agree it looks like about 3 Years old and the b matches with born at top and the 3 matches with 3rd on left.

The final word does look like last but not sure about the bit beforehand.
Why would May be a superscript like that?
Is it perhaps Xmas ?

Are there any similar entries giving the child's age on adjacent pages?

I agree that it looks like Xmas, though not sure I would have if Mike had not put the idea into my head.

3 {possibly 9} year old Xmas last.

Need to see more to compare.

As Mike says, it would be helpful to know if there were other similar entries, but I'll hazard a guess that Ann was 'about 3 years old Xmas last', so three years old last Christmas. I note she's being dipped alongside her (presumably) infant brother.

Thanks Everyone,

I now agree with Mike's idea of it being "Xmas Last", not that I would have even thought of that. The 3 years does fit with the date range for James & Mary's kids being born Mary 1752, John 1755, Elizabeth 1758 and James 1764 so Anne (1761) would fit in the gap between Elizabeth and James..

I did look through the 3 previous and past years of the parish register but there was nothing similar mentioned. Also I looked at the Bishops transcript and it didn't even shown that last bit for Anne.

Once again Thanks
