Insert Pictures V2.1

Post by ernest »

How do I downsize pictures that appear in the Multimedia Window.
They currently fill the whole page.
Am doing something wrong when transferring them.

Welcome to the FHUG ernest.

Your profile on the right says you are running FH V2 which is VERY old.
Are you actually running FH V6.2? If so then please correct your profile.
Click your username ernest top right and choose User Control Panel.
Then on its Profile tab, select Family Historian V6.2 (or whatever version you have) and scroll down to Submit.

If your Media problem is in FH V6.2 then I wonder if you have accidentally dragged the resizing bars.
They are highlighted in yellow in the screenshot below, but in your case may be right against the left and top margins.
Hover your cursor over them until it changes to parallel lines with two arrows, and then click and drag.
( Scroll this posting down if you really do have FH V2.1 )

If you really do have FH V2.1 then I seriously suggest you upgrade, as it is over 15 years old.
Have you altered the Context pane button highlighted in yellow below. Click it and see.

Thank you Jane and Tatewise for your speedy response.
I confirm I am using V2.1.
I have added an attachment so you can see my toolbar and the current size on Multimedia.
As you can see my toolbar is quite different.
Again as you comment Tatewise it is very old but has served me well.
I have recently inquired about the latest version but cant see after all these years what it would do for me.
The pictures on the Property Dialogue are a lot smaller.
Hoping for further assistance with my problem.
Regards, Ernest.

On Version 2 I can't see any way of viewing thubnails or adjusting the the top note section although you can move the bar between the list and the picture by dragging it.

I had forgotten just how much had improved over the years on the Media Window.

Well Ernest, the improvements in the Multimedia Window on FH V6.2 would give you far more control over displaying large images like that.

From your screenshot, FH V2.1 appears to have no image display size adjustments.
I can run FH V3.0 and allows the image scale to be adjusted from 10% to 200% and Autosized to fit window.

I suspect you simply have large images, and the only workaround is to use a photo editor to resize them outside FH.

Thank you Jane & tatewise.
I will try resizing outside of FH.
Thanks again for your assistance.
