Post by Ron Melby »

Aye Ron,

Being a Luddite, I am not the best at this sort of thing, but at this late hour I may be able to help!

Does this link help? FH_Index_to_plugin_titles

If this doesn't help, I apologies and hope the people that write these things can help, later this morning.

Good health and my regards, Bill

P.S. Mike, I suspect will move this to the FH General Board, rather than here, as the wee note on the Forum Board Index indicates. Again, I am no touching anything in case it goes 'Pop'! B

Thats exactly the thing, Thank you! How you would navigate there is beyond me. But its not the old plug in store, where we could browse all plugins like that. its more the code snippet page.

Yes, it is part of the Family Historian website, not this FHUG website.
But you can get there from here by visiting the plugins:index|> Family Historian Plugins where in the End User Guide there is a guide to Downloading and Using Plugins with links to the Family Historian Plugin Store.

Also in FH itself the Tools > Plugins window has a Plugin Store button, and the Help button explains all.

themoudie reference below is only to the [kb]|[/kb] Help & Advice pages for a subset of the Plugins that need extra explanation for users.

I have moved this to the Plugin Discussions Forum that is more appropriate.

On this same theme I am having a lot of problems running the 'check for plugin updates' plugin. It used to run very quickly but now seems to take anything up to an hour if it doesn't crash beforehand. I am unsure if this is a problem with my PC or if anyone else is having long delays with this checking plugin?

I have 200 plugins in my folder, but the check ran through in about 4 mins on my PC.

I presume you mean the Check Installed Plugins Against The Store Plugin Version 2.9 Date June 2018?

Its speed depends on various factors such as your PC, the Internet, and the FH website server, but mostly on the number of Plugins you have listed in Tools > Plugins.
I have 537 (as I keep many archive backups of old versions) and it took about 14 minutes to work through them all.

So taking all those statistics, it takes about 1.5 seconds per Plugin.

Hello Ron,
There is another way.
On the Family Historian program menu click on TOOLS, then Plugins, at the bottom of that pop-up click on Plugin Store.
