Edit Countries & Places

Post by ColinMc »

Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I couldn't see any alternative.

Trying to add an entry in Census\Countries and places, I get an error every time.
AS- Countries error.jpg

The details section then contains this text
See the end of this message for details on invoking

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.
Any suggestions welcome as to what might be causing my problem.

Thanks

Colin

Yes, this is exactly the correct place to post that problem that I am getting too.

I suspect something in Windows 10 has been updated and upset that feature in AS.

The author Nick Walker may well see this posting, but you can Email him as advised in the AS Help > Ancestral Sources Introduction > Introduction - read this first under Warranty and Support.

Thanks

there was a big Win 10 update a couple of days ago, so you may well be right.

Thanks I have mailed him. I did look at that page , but missed the email address when I looked at it.
