FH 6.2.7

Post by BillH »

I just got notified of a new version of FH, 6.2.7. I went ahead and told FH to go ahead and update. As part of that process the install closed FH and then continued. I got the following error:

image1.jpg (60.44 KiB) Viewed 5786 times
I aborted the install and went to the Calico Pie web site and downloaded the update and installed it manually and it installed fine and About shows version 6.2.7.

Any ideas what might have caused the error?

Thanks!

I just ran the upgrade from FH->Help and it completed without an error.

This appears to be an upgrade with only one feature
Product registration has been modified to conform to new EU regulation (GDPR).
and I wonder if it is worth bothering?

If you have problems with the automatic update just go to

https://www.family-historian.co.uk/down ... ee-upgrade

and download and install it manually.

It's not much of an update, but the same as all the very annoying messages you get on almost every web site these days is the fault of the new draconian GDPR rubbish.

This is a recurring problem with the Check for Updates auto-update process.
Yes, most of us know to use the https://www.family-historian.co.uk/down ... ee-upgrade download, but new/novice users will find it disturbing.

Bill, (and others), please report it to Calico Pie so they get an appreciation of how often it is happening and what errors arise.
