FMP Matches
All of a sudden, the links to FMP appear not to be working.
I am attaching a screen shot of the message (I have also reported it to FMP).

Yes, you are not alone - I started getting error messages around 15:20 (UK) today:

Re: FMP Matches
Yes, it looks like FMP are having one of their regular glitches.
Leave it for 24-hours to see if they sort it out.
There seem to be a lot of glitches around these days. May be it is the cold weather.
Last week the phone & broadband went dead, and I found a BT engineer rewiring telegraph poles outside without any warning.
Tuesday the Broadband Domain Name Server (DNS) went AWOL for about an hour.
That evening my daughter's neighbour lost their mains power supply and needed a generator running all night.
BTW:
Derek, it is better to attach a JPG/PNG screen-shot directly rather than a Word document DOC file that some users may not be able to open.

Re: FMP Matches
While it might rectify itself, they have just restructured their subscription packages which might mean it's a more permanent change

Re: FMP Matches
It's happening again, yesterday and today, I'm getting the message {"statusCode":400,"error":"Bad Request","message":"Invalid cookie value"} when I click on the hints.
Have we fallen out with FMP?

Re: FMP Matches
Try reporting it to Calico Pie as well as FMP.

Re: FMP Matches
Have tested FindMyPast Hints with RootsMagic (my secondary program for managing Ancestry.com research) and get a range of very similar errors during navigation. So the problem is most probably at the FMP end and I've reported my specific problems with both applications in using the Hints Interface to FMP.
It is not unusual, in my experience, that such problems are experienced with all of the data providers from time to time but, they do need to be informed/pressured by their subscribers who are the ones who pay the bills. Example: Ancestry has just been through 7 days+ of users being unable to safely sync online trees with Family Tree Maker.

Re: FMP Matches
Mervyn,
Family Tree Maker no longer works with Ancestry since MacKiev took it over, the latter have their own hint and sync system but you have to buy their version of Family Tree Maker to make it work! I decided not to pay for it twice so have uninstalled Family Tree Maker from my pc and now only use FH6.

All appears to be working fine now! Fingers firmly crossed!

This problem & solution is mentioned in the recent Family Historian Bulletins - December 2017 Email from Calico Pie or by visiting http://bulletins.family-historian.co.uk/?20171204.
