Diagram Box Options for Marriage

Post by Gowermick »

When setting the box options to show Birth,Marriage and Death, why is the Marriage only shown for the Female half of the marriage?

Can it be made to show in the Males' box too? As the Female box may not be on the same screen as the Male.

Many options are possible.
Check Diagram > Options > Text > Edit and then Edit the Marriage item.
The box options lower left decide where it is displayed.

It is only shown in one box to avoid duplication.

That's what I suspected, shame really, I would have liked both, duplication or not. Quite often the pair are not on the screen at the same time, and was hoping to show when they married in both boxes.

Not to worry, I always have the property box open, so I only have to look there to see. I'll add a married flag to remind me :D

It is possible to show Marriage in both Male and Female at the same time.
Just need to change the Options as described by Mike.

Also depends on whether you are looking at Ancestors or Descendants. As by default the Marriage info is shown in the Descendants Spouse Box whether that be Male or Female.

Yes, both boxes is possible in the options, depending on type of box, and how many spouses, complicates things.

My last statement was answering your question why it is usually shown in one.
