I currently run Family Historian 2.1. Having now updated my computer I find that V2.1 will not run with windows 7. Therefore it looks like I will have to upgrade or lose all my data. If I purchase the upgrade how then do I transfer the information from the 2.1 version to the new version?

Family Historian 2.1
A later version of Family Historian will simply be able to load the same GEDCOM file that you saved using v2.1, so there should be no difficulty about transferring the information as such. You may find the following article in the Knowledge Base helpful, along with some of its Related Pages:

Also you can install FH V2.1 on Windows 7, but you will probably need the CD-backed installer.

This and Peter's link are all under the Knowledge Base FH Installation Guide at

which has several useful bits of advice.
One of the easiest ways to transfer all your data, not just FH data, is to use Windows Easy Transfer that is mentioned in the above advice.
