* Forcing the use of 'dd mmm yyyy' date format

Is there a way to force a citation the use of "dd mmm yyyy" format?
I keep getting dates like "3 March 2024", no matter what options I try.
I really want to have something like "3 Mar 2024" everywhere.

I am guessing, but I presume you are talking about Dates in the Citation Footnote or Bibliography.

Dates in the Source Citation window Date metafields are displayed the same as any other Date field by using the Tools > Preferences > General tab Preferred Standard Date Format, which is usually dd mmm yyyy.

However, the Source Template Format expressions for Footnote and Bibliography always default to LONG date format. Unfortunately, the only {Date} field code qualifier is YEAR, e.g. {Date:YEAR}.
So to display other date formats use a code like {%SOUR.~DT-DATE:COMPACT%} for format dd mmm yyyy.
That works for a Source metafield named Date.
For a Citation metafield named Entry Date use a code like {%CUR~CITN.~DT-ENTRY_DATE:COMPACT%}.

Thanks, Mike. I previously tried doing what you just suggested. I'll give it another try. Perhaps I did something incorrectly.
