Downloading/extracting simple list

Post by AndrewRL »

Apologies for a basic question but I am very new to this software.

I have entered a fair amount of data but need to start filling in gaps etc. What I would really like is a simple list that I can extract of all individuals with basic facts (if entered) such as birth date/location, marriage date/location and death date/location. I can configure the "Individual Records" window/screen to show what I want but I can't see a way to copy/extract this. Ideally I want to be able to replicate/copy this list in Excel.

I have looked at queries etc but find that all mind boggling and not very user friendly but perhaps the answer is there?

Can anyone help?

Welcome to the FHUG Andrew.

Your question has been asked before and is answered in the FHUG Knowledge Base by the article How to Customise or Print Records Window or Named List Columns.
The Query window Save options include CSV which will open in Excel.
If you still cannot figure out how to obtain the data you want then ask again.

Perfect - thanks Mike.

I had searched the knowledge base and Help but I wasn't really sure where to look! :?
All done now and I have the list in Excel :D

I am sure that I will be back with more questions on other topics

All the best

Andrew

Have a look at this post on the forum viewtopic.php?p=143081#p143081

I posted a query that will do what you want so just save the output as a CSV for your Excel editing.
