Choose the Multiple Individuals option, then Select, then the cunningly named Named Lists tab :)

Further to that, before adding Individual records from the Named list, set the top right option to Custom Order and the Report will be produced in the order of the records in the Named List, which can be kept in a fixed order by using the Lists > Keep Current List Order option.

We've all missed things that are staring us in the face...

The Custom Order option Mike referred to is top right in this screenshot.

See https://www.family-historian.co.uk/help ... lists.html for how to configure the Named List as Mike described.

I wonder if the required details have more to do with how to get that Select Records dialogue.

Use the Publish > Narrative Reports > Individual Narrative command.
Set the Subject Type: to Multiple Individuals and click the Select... button.
That opens the Select Records dialogue with the Named Lists tab as shown in Helen's screenshot.

Helen provides the Help page for managing Named Lists via the Lists menu.
To populate a Named List, select Individual records and drag them into the Named List pane.
You can adjust their order with the small black up/down arrows.

Thank you all. It was one little thing I did not do and it all resolved nicely. I now have access to narrative reports using my named list.
