Am I doing something wrong here?
I've entered a number of Sources using the Civil Registration Template. In the Source Records Window, they are showing with no Type. But If I try to open them to edit them I can't because the type already exists and is set to (in this case) Death.

Re: Source from Template - Type
Only generic sources have a type field in the record window. Template sources have their template shown in a separate column.

Re: Source from Template - Type
Those are two different types.
The Records Window 'Type' column is the old generic Source record Type (GEDCOM _TYPE tag).
The templated 'Type' is a Source Template derived metafield, hence the indented black bullet on the Main tab.
It is possible to include the former in the Source record Main tab.
It is possible to add the latter as a Records Window column.
They are two different Source record fields with similar names.

Re: Source from Template - Type
Ok at least I understand now.
Think I'll revert to Generic Sources.
Thanks to both.
