Is there a way see citation media while editing the citation?

Post by fhtess65 »

I'd like to be able to see the citation media while editing the citation, in order to add details...is there a way to do this? As far as I've found, the active media window blocks access to any other window. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

Are you talking about the floating yellow background Citation window with tabs Citation, Text From Source, Notes & Media?
That is opened using the Edit Source Citation button at the bottom of the yellow Sources For pane.
Well, the Media tab lets you add & edit both Citation and Source record Media.

Anyway, that floating Citation window is like other floating windows and does not block anything.

If you are talking about something else, please attach a screenshot illustrating the problem.

See my screen capture to illustrate. I clicked on Sources for Name > double-clicked 1939 Register > clicked Media > double-clicked the specific image.

Ah! I see. You want to copy details from the media image into the Source Citation.

There are several options.

Click the green circle with black triangle icon Open in Editor/Player button just below the image.
That will open the image in an external photo editor and lets you edit the Citation details.

Alternatively, use the Facts tab Show Media button to open the Media image.

Or in the Media Window open the Media record to see the image.
