How to suggest a new feature or improvement?

Post by JohnB47 »

How do I contact the developers and make a feature/improvement request?

I want to ask them to consider a change whereby a Reports sentence like "Joe Bloggs was the son of ....." appears as "Joe Bloggs is the son of ....." if the individuals Record Flag is set to 'Living'.

Thanks.

This group (FHUG) has its own Wish List, where requests for enhancements or new features can be made. Calico Pie (the developers of FH) take it into account but their decisions about what to do depend on the ease of coding, how much demand there is for a feature, etc. The procedure to get something added to the Wish List is first to raise a new topic in the New Wish List Requests forum where it can be discussed make sure the feature has not already been requested and to judge whether it has support from others. After discussion, if agreed, a new item is then created in the Wish List itself https://www.fhug.org.uk/wishlist/wllist.php where members can vote on it.

You could contact Calico Pie direct via their Support Ticket system here https://support.calico-pie.com/index.php but you might find they refer you back to the Wish List.

New Wish List Request discussion Allow Report sentences to recognise Individuals who are Living. (23356) has posted a Wish List proposal and feedback from others would be welcome.
