When I do a search in the forum the results seem to be in completely random order. Is there a way to sort them so that the newest results are listed first?
Thanks,
Bill

You could try the advanced search https://fhug.org.uk/forum/search.php

Helen,
Isn't that the old search? I was using the new search. Is there no way to get the new search to show results in sort order?

Or scroll down and tick the Filter by Year that matches when you think it was posted and then work either side.

Bill the new search is, I think, sorted by the relevance of the content. Which isn't a lot of help if you search by a single common word, admittedly.

Mike and Helen,
For one search the result at the top was from 2011. I knew there were newer postings that were relevant as well. I'll have to remember to use the year filter or try the advanced search.
Thanks,
Bill

I still find the Google site search very useful for all of FHUG
see Forum Usage Tips
heading Extended Search for Keywords with Google Site Search
for some examples, you can then use all the features of a google search. I am not sure if the FHUG KB search finds things that google does not.
