knowledge base black background blue text
I am seeing strange results when using the search box within the knowledge base.
When I start entering anything into the search box the window goes black with a column of blue text which is fuzzy and hard to read.
I am not using a dark theme in Windows. Before entering the search, the text was black on a white background.
As soon as I remove the text from the search box, the window goes back to normal.
This happens regardless of which browser I use.
Is anyone else seeing this? Is there currently a problem with the knowledge base search? I couldn't find any mention of it in the forums.
Thanks,
Bill

I suspect it is a side-effect of the migration to the new KB for FH V7.
The current local KB has been frozen (and the Wish List hidden) to prevent changes.
Otherwise, changes to the current local KB would have to be repeated in the new KB and could easily get overlooked.
I suggest you use the Search box top right of the Forum page, which searches both KB and Forum with tick options.

Mike,
OK... thanks... I'll use that search instead.

This has nothing to do with the new KB -- it has always been that way, since the new search facilities were implemented. The search results display in blue in the upper (dark brown region of the page); if there are more results than can be accommodated, the upper region expands. As Mike says, seaching from with the forums bypasses the problem as does using the Search box at https://fhug.org.uk/wiki/#searching
The search is displayed differently in the new KB, so the anomaly will go away.

Helen, when did that change to the KB Search facilities take place?
Like the others, I really don't remember seeing that blue & brown results list ever before.

I'm pretty sure it was part of this change New search on the Home page (15752). There have been no changes to Search since, or to the old KB platform (other than making it read only recently in preparation for migrating to the new KB.)
I wonder if most people haven't been searching from the KB banner since the Board search was extended to cover the KB as well?

It has been like that for a long while, I usually search that way but I tweak it using inspect element each time so it is readable.

Strange, I don't think it has been 2 1/2 years since I last did a search in the knowledge base. I've never seen it like this before. The KB search is unreadable on my computer, the blue is to fuzzy.
In any case, I can use the home page search and wait till the new KB is "turned on".
Thanks,
Bill
