Missing Links
Many times I would either like to go from forum to KB or KB to forum. I see no button or quicklink here to do that.

Re: Missing Links
Ron, if you're in the KB there's a link at the top to go to the Forums. If you're in the Forums, there's a link at the top to go to the Knowledge Base.
Or were you meaning something else?

Re: Missing Links
One slight snag on the Forums page is that the Knowledge Base link top right, scrolls off the top of screen when you scroll down into postings.
The trick I often use is to right-click the Knowledge Base link (or the Forums link) and choose Open Link in New Tab so the original page is retained.

Re: Missing Links
By Forums, I assume you mean board index. On that page, left to right, top to bottom, there is no link for KB. Or in any of the forums at all. I am getting the blue phpBB and not the old brown and pumpkin when I am signed into forums.
Nothing Knowledgebase at index or in forums before I click a thread.

Re: Missing Links
(I have started a new thread for this as it is not really to do with the Forum Usage Guide.)
Below is what I see in Firefox on every Forums page whether at the Board index or with any Forum posting open.
The Knowledge Base link we are talking about is ringed in red.
Please post a screenshot of what you are seeing.
What browser are you using?

Chrome, and I only see that if I am not signed in. If I am signed in I only see forums.

Re: Missing Links
Ron the proSilver theme was (totally uncustomised) provided for backwards compatibility for some users who really didn't like the orange -- if you want to swap to the orange you can do so in your account profile.

Re: Missing Links
That is something that Jane needs to look into.
Either that pro silver style needs to be fixed to include a Knowledge Base link, OR the pro silver setting should be removed from the User Control Panel > Board preferences > Edit global settings > My board style options.

Re: Missing Links
Please don't remove the option to use a different skin. I find the orange one garish and ugly, I much prefer the pro silver one. Please leave us with a choice.tatewise wrote:OR the pro silver setting should be removed from the User Control Panel > Board preferences > Edit global settings > My board style options.

Re: Missing Links
We've been round this topic before -- the intention was that there would only be a single theme to which customisations were applied; at the request of Colin and (IIRC) one other, the simple silver one was reinstated on the understanding that there would be no customisation of it (it's unreasonable to expect Jane to do everything twice).
If the colours really offend you, there are browser addons like NoSquint PLus for Firefox that let you customise the appearance of the theme. (Or they used to -- I haven't used Firefox in years so don't know if it still exists). There's definitely a Chome addon that will make site you select appear in grayscale, and I think on exists for Firefox as well.
