FHU Mailing list subscription

Post by hughfuller »

Hi,
I just received the latest FHUG newsletter and I am interested in subscribing to the D list. Can anybody tell me the email address and process to use since It moved from Rootsweb to Microsoft?
Thanks,
Hugh Fuller

As far as I know it's unchanged.

See info:mailing_list|> FHU Mailing List.

If you have problems just let us know.

I've just renewed mine using the link provided in the news letter and it all went through in a matter of moments.

BTW: RootsWeb has NOT moved to Microsoft but to Ancestry.

I believe Ancestry are using Microsoft for delivery and filtering. Hence the via in the image above.

I had not spotted that.
Where exactly does that image come from?

FYI: In info:mailing_list|> FHU Mailing List the Recent Posts rss feed that had restarted earlier this month have now stopped again, and the Archives have stalled at the same point.

Gmail on the web. If you look at the source code for an email from the list you can also see it. Not much we can do on the archives other than hoping they settle down along with everything else eventually.

Thanks for your prompt replies. When subscribing to the D List I repeatedly get a "Permanent Fatal Error" return of my email. I have now successfully subscribed to the L List and that seems to have gone through without error.

One advantage of subscribing to the -L version of the list instead of the Digest is that it's easier to jettison any spam messages that might make it through the list.

Since the recent problems with Rootsweb, I've pretty much given up on subscribing to Digests. It was annoying enough dealing with people who replied to a digest and didn't bother to change the subject or trim the quoted material*, but the spam was the final straw.

*I'm not perfect -- I've replied to digest messages and forgotten to clean up too. Which is another reason I thought it would be better for me to stop getting the Digests.

The Digest subscription seems to be broken at the moment. Getting any response out of Rootsweb is pretty impossible. In the meantime if you want to subscribe to the digest, please sign up to the list and then email the admin account and I will manually change you over in the Admin system.

Although you can't easily tell the subscription and unsubscription settings for the list have changed.

This is what you get back if you send help as a subject to family-historian-users-request@rootsweb.com
