Adding Media Record For A Marriage To Both Individuals

Post by eintracht »

Would it be possible to have a tick box or something that enables, when entering for example a Marriage Certificate as a Media Record to an Individual, the Media Record to also be attached to the spouse? This would save manually having to add the Media Record to the spouse as well.
Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris.
That is not the conventional way of adding Source documents.
The Marriage fact is added to the Family record for the couple and should have a Source Citation.
That Source Citation is where the Marriage Certificate media should be added.
Then it automatically applies to both the husband and wife.

A similar Source Citation should be added to other facts derived from the Marriage Certificate such as the Occupation of both the husband's and the wife's father.

Conventionally only photos of people are attached to the Individual Media tab.

This Wish List is not the place for discussing how to add Source Citations and Media.

There is much advice in the documentation on Source Citation methods.
