Timeline chart error

Jane,

When running the timeline chart against a single individual I'm getting the following error:

If I click on yes, then I get the following error:

I used the option to Quick View Current Record.

I am having exactly the same problem.

It's the first time I have tried to use this plug in so I don't know if it's a new problem.

The problem is not so much with the Plugin but with the Timeline web site.

It appears that the link to the API (Application Program Interface) has been changed as defined at http://simile-widgets.org/wiki/Timeline_GettingStarted under Step 1. Link to the API.

So until Jane can correct the Plugin the workaround is to edit the Plugin LUA script as follows.
Ensure you have the latest Version: 1.5 Last Updated: March 2013.
If not, then download latest from Plugin Store.
Use Tools > Plugins > More>> > Timeline Chart > Edit
On Line 361 replace the substring following src='http://
static.simile.mit.edu/timeline/api-2.3.1
with
api.simile-widgets.org/timeline/2.3.1

Leave the rest of the line unchanged /timeline-api.js?bundle=true' type='text/javascript'> ...

Click Go to check it works, and if so, then use File > Save and exit.
You can always download the Plugin form the Plugin Store to get back the original.

Mike,

I have tried following your instructions but when I get to line 361 the text you said to replace is not there, and I can't find it anywhere else.

It's the first time I have tried to do anything like this - am I missing something obvious?

Does it help to know that the whole of line 361 is as follows:

You only need to change part of the line, as instructed above.

Thanks... that worked for me. However, the line that needed changing in my copy of the plugin was on line 28, not line 361.

Yes if you're using Version 1.4. I guess Mike and I have Version 1.5.

Bill, thank you for that. I thought I was going mad as my line 361 was nothing like the one quoted.

Thanks Mike, I have put a new version of the plugin in the store.
