* PAF5 inport

Importing from another genealogy program? This is the place to ask. Questions about Exporting should go in the Exporting sub-forum of the General Usage forum.

PAF5 inport

Post by grendix »

I have a 8.paf file but no longer have the PAF program. Nor does it seem to be available. How can I import the data into FH6.2 on a windows 10 machine?

There are a few options in the attached link. Once you have a GEDCOM file, it can be imported into FH directly.

There are a couple of options that I am aware of.

1: Download the free version of Ancestral Quest, it will read the PAF file and convert it to a Gedcom that you can upload to FH.
2: Download PAF from one of the many sites that have it available for download such as http://mpafug.org/PAFprograms.html

Welcome to the FHUG.

Checkout the how_to:import_from_paf|> Import from Personal Ancestral File (PAF) which has much advice, and also an installation ZIP file for PAF V5 so no need to go elsewhere.
