PAF5 inport

Postby grendix » 11 Mar 2019 19:42

I have a 8.paf file but no longer have the PAF program. Nor does it seem to be available. How can I import the data into FH6.2 on a windows 10 machine?

There are a few options in the attached link. Once you have a GEDCOM file, it can be imported into FH directly.

There are a couple of options that I am aware of.

1: Download the free version of Ancestral Quest, it will read the PAF file and convert it to a Gedcom that you can upload to FH.
2: Download PAF from one of the many sites that have it available for download such as http://mpafug.org/PAFprograms.html

Welcome to the FHUG.

Checkout the Knowledge Base > Import from Personal Ancestral File (PAF) which has much advice, and also an installation ZIP file for PAF V5 so no need to go elsewhere.

It would be nice to know the solution, in case it helps somebody else.
