Importing from another genealogy program? This is the place to ask. Questions about Exporting should go in the Exporting sub-forum of the General Usage forum.

Duplicate Images

Post by zlatarigirl »

I have imported my tree from a Gedcom. The problem is when I go to all images I have duplicates. Could someone please tell me how to delete these duplicates.

Thank you.

I have moved this to the Importing and Exporting Forum that is more appropriate.

Is this in any way related to your other two postings Transferring files from one computer to another. (15898) and Import Gedcom from RM7 (15899) to which you have not responded?

Since deletion is not reversible, it would be better to understand exactly what is happening.
I suspect you are using the camera icon View Media > View All Media that to be precise shows Media records not image files.
Where did the GEDCOM come from, and exactly how did you import it?
Did you use the File > Project Window > New Project command?

However, if you are sure what you want to delete, then how_to:delete_a_large_number_of_records|> Delete Any Number of Records explains the options. Since you are deleting Media records, that may leave orphaned media image files, so run the Check for Unlinked Media Plugin.

I would have been more reassuring if you had answered my questions.
So if you delete the wrong items don't blame me!

BEWARE: Don't delete anything unless the Links column is 0, or you understand the implications.
