Those of you with Irish ancestors (may apply to Scottish too), may find that your ancestor actually stated the parish they came from in the 1921 UKcensus. My great grandmother expanded on her previous census entries ( which just showed Cork, Iteland) and stated that she came from ‘Skibbereen Parish, Cork, Ireland’, very useful to know.
At least now I’ll be ble to narrow down my search for her baptism!

I too have found some more defined places, especially for folk born some way away from their registration place even within England. BUT the exotic FMP transcriptions can be less than helpful. I don't think Taunton is in Somalia...
