FMP Images

Post by gwilym'smum »

Good morning
I have recently been looking at images on FMP on a topic I am researching. I am not accessing FMP via Family Historian as it is not my family.
I wondered if anyone else had experienced the same problem. It actually only happens on the odd occasion but it never happened before they jiggled their screen.
You find a record and click on the transcription. Then click on "view image" and it does not go to the correct image. One was no where to be found but others have been the previous or next image. It has been mainly on census records.
Take care

Unhelpfully, I've not seen that myself in FMP but I have seen it happen on FamilySearch, where for some reason the image that pops up doesn't contain what it should. So whether FMP have used an index straight from FS, I don't know....

Ann, I experienced this myself only a few days ago. I think it was a census, and instead of showing page 11, it showed page 13. Trying to go back to correct page, it went straight back from 13 to 10! It transpired that pages 11 & 12 were missing. Naturally, I reported it.
Not sure if it was FMP or Ancestry though.

Thanks Adrian and Mike.
It crossed my mind that it had only happened since they changed the page layout.

I have seen it happen before the recent changes - all three big sites I use (Ancestry, FMP, FamilySearch) so have this issue from time to time. Generally I can find what I need by going one image on either side.
