Help with birth place Evertondp'l

Post by dewilkinson » 20 Nov 2019 17:54

In the attached 1901 census entry the birth place appears to be Evertondp'l. I don't understand what this might mean. The 1891 census clearly says Everton for the mother which is what I have recorded, and Old Swan and Wavertree for the daughters. The 1911 census says Liverpool for all of them. If anyone knows what dp'l means I would be grateful.

How about Everton, Liverpool ?

That d is an old capital L (as in Lancs above) so it says Everton Lp'l.

That was quick. I think you are right, just a question of why didn't I think of that!

Thank you very much.

Yes, that's what I saw as soon as I looked. Some things are best with a fresh eye!
