Hamilton Buildings, Great Eastern Street, London

Post by rob_it »

Can someone tell me where I might obtain a photo of Hamilton Buildings. It was a tenement building (now pulled down) off Great Eastern Street where a 100yr old relative of mine once lived and who would be thrilled to see a picture of it. Map showing location attached

I found a group on facebook (Poplar, Limehouse and Isle of Dogs History), that are quite prolific in posting old photo's of their area.
Have a look for a history group that covers Great Eastern Street area, and pose the question there.

Edit: You might want to consider joining the East of London Family History Society (EOLFHS). They have a forum for members on their website, and you could pose the question there too

Have a look at English Heritage web site. They have a lot of old historic photos of the whole country and there might be one of the building you are looking for.
