Clooz v3.3 gedcom

Post by Valkrider »

Just a warning about Clooz v3.3 gedcoms.

I was sent one recently as it would not process correctly in my Wordpress plugin. On looking at the file the date phrases are completely messed up.

This is an example:

2 DATE between 1 Jul 1990Sep and 30 1990

It does not record / export an individuals sex either.

It exports events without dates too like:

1 BIRT
1 DEAT

Should you use this version of Clooz you may have a lot of correcting to do if you import into Family Historian.

Tony Proctor reported the same thing on Facebook.

It was me that sent Tony the gedcom that he posted about after I had the issues when it was originally sent to me.

Just a question - if v3.3 is causing problems why not update Clooz to the latest version - 3.5.26?

I don't have Clooz and don't need it. The gedcom was sent to me as it won't load into my Wordpress plugin. I examined it and found issues with it as detailed above. I passed it on to @Tony Proctor and he had similar issues with his SVG application. This was a heads up for anyone who tries to import a Clooz gedcom in to Family Historian saying that they may have problems.

If you have this latest version of Clooz and are prepared to send me a gedcom created with it I can check to see if the problems have been rectified.
