I'm having a smashing time too - but didn't they explode with sound last year?

My settings seem to be fine, but I may have missed something :?

Maybe Jane has made them silent this year as too many users find them tooooooo noisy or frighten their pets.

You can turn the sound on and off. The link to do so is at the end of this post...

You can't turn the sound on or off, Bill, as they've been turned off by default  :D 8-)

Craig,

You clicked on CANCEL and the sound didn't come on? Very weird!

I used it last year to silence the sound because I don't like having it on. It stayed off this year, but I can turn it on by clicking on CANCEL and then clicking on OK turns it off for me.

Having followed the link to Christmas is coming (14459) you must use the link in the posting by Jane on Mon Dec 19, 2016 10:53 am.
i.e.
To turn off the smashing noise

Click here and select OK for sound off, Cancel for Sound On

Click OK to turn the sound off and cancel to turn it on.

In some browsers it adds a speaker icon to the webpage tab, and that can be clicked to mute or un-mute the sound.

Many thanks

I had to try a couple of times before it worked, but I've now got the satisying sound of breaking glass, without the need to sweep up afterwards :D

It is also very satisfying when things are not working or when you find people on Ancestry who have attributed your relatives to the wrong people without any proof!
