As far as I know it isn't possible using AS.
I've always just added the confirmation fact to the person in FH and then copied and pasted this to other individuals involved as desired.

Yes I can see how to do that now, though I've never added a fact before in FH. Good to learn something new! Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
Update - I just completed the addition. It worked a treat! Thanks again!

If you have more complex items to add for example a newpaper report where there are many facts to add to many people take a look at using "Auto Source Citation"

Re: Is there a way to add a confirmation record using AS?
'Census' records in Ancestral Sources are actually very adaptable so I suspect it would be possible to create a census template which creates a confirmation fact (rather than a census fact) with columns defined for the other information included in the confirmation record. I've not got any confirmation records so am not sure what the format would be. If a Confirmation source just leads to a confirmation fact being created then you might as well record these using FH as others have suggested.Kai Chandler wrote: ↑12 Jul 2022 16:51 Is there a way to add a confirmation record using AS?

Re: Is there a way to add a confirmation record using AS?
thanks Nick. Yes, I've probably done what I need to do using the FH Fact but just out of interest, if I were to do it in AS as you suggest, would it be by using Custom Events in the Census Template Editor?
Are they documented anywhere?

Re: Is there a way to add a confirmation record using AS?
Actually my post is a bit misleading. AS census templates can create custom facts (or census or residence) but not other standard ones. I'd not really twigged that confirmation is a standard GEDCOM fact (I should have guessed though) so it wouldn't be able to generate those. It could generate a custom fact for confirmation but not the standard one.
I'm sure custom events/facts are documented in the FH help. If, for example, you entered the custom event as "Birthday Party" (if you happened to have lots of source records for who attended different birthday parties!) it would generate a Birthday Party custom event in FH with the date, place and address. You could then use column definitions within the AS census template that add data into the local note field of the birthday party e.g. which birthday present they bought.

Re: Is there a way to add a confirmation record using AS?
There is a workaround for the standard Confirmation event scenario.
Use the AS Census Template technique to create temporary custom Confirmation events.
Then in FH use the Change Any Fact Tag plugin to convert the custom Confirmation events into standard events.
It is only worth going through that process if you have a significant number of such events to capture.
